The follow up to my first-half of 2020 album, most of these tracks were written during the 2nd half of 2020, while still in quarantine. The title tracks were written much earlier, in 2019, and were in need of a home. I wanted to build an entire album around them, while still presenting a spiritual follow-up to Day0 Vol1.

As far as sound, this entire album is heavily guitar driven. Raging guitar solos and more driving drum patterns take the place of the mostly ambient, structureless voids of Vol1. A lot of the sound of this album is a result of going back to my roots and playing with more Alt Rock and Progressive Rock music styles that made me love music in the first place. I took hints from my old band, as well as a lot more 80's synth rock.

The name 'When the Dust Settles', was something I came up with oddly WAY before any of the events that led to this album took place. Each subsequent event just happened to keep making the title more and more relevant.

I took a completely different approach from the first album. instead of writing whatever came to mind one track a day, I abandoned the 'Day' approach (and the Day naming convention!), to write more deliberate and purposeful songs that I WANTED to write. I had a good starting point with a few tracks already mostly written, and a good idea what I wanted to build it out with.

Heavily influenced by artists like The Cure, Brand New, The Mars Volta, 30 Seconds to Mars, Coheed and Cambria, Dream Theater, How to Dress Well, David Keogh, and The Police.

I love every track on this album. It's probably the most ME thing I've ever created.
